“Ugh, not another networking event ”
Yeah, we get the same feeling when we hear the word networking, suits in a room with a questionable sandwich selection and the inevitable power point presentation.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Tees Valley Business Compass and PR experts, Harvey & Hugo to do something a little bit different as part of Darlington Business Week: Networking and NERF Wars.
Load your gun, take your aim, and prepare to shoot your peers and hopefully a potential future business partner(s), what more could you wish for from an evening of networking? Oh yeah, did we mention there’s FREE pizza and beers too?
Taking place from 6pm – 9pm on Wednesday 10 October at Northern Echo Arena, Darlington, NERF WARS promises to be a networking event like no other.
Our very own Nerf Wars Veteran and Business Development Manager, Pete Noble said:
“What’s not to love? Free pizza, beer and getting to shoot like-minded business professionals with a Nerf gun instead of just throwing your business card at them!”
“We’re delighted to be partnering with the Tees Valley Business Compass as part of this innovative networking event, and we’re looking forward to collaborating with some of the most exciting and forward-thinking businesses the Tees Valley has to offer.”
Gemma Walton, marketing and events manager at Tees Valley Business Compass, explained:
“We decided to do something a little bit different for our next networking event, and we think NERF WARS will definitely do that.
“When you go to networking events on a regular basis they all tend to blend together in the mind, but we think this is one that our attendees won’t soon forget.
“We are expecting the event to be a huge success, so I would urge all businesses and individual’s that are interested to sign up as soon as possible.”
When you sign up, you’ll be asked to answer some questions to make sure you connect with the right people.
After spending 20 minutes in a controlled networking session, making real connections with the right people and businesses, you’ll spend 20 minutes creating a different type of relationship as you’re split into teams to face off in the NERF WAR.
This is the first time Tees Valley Business Compass will be hosting this event, with further ones taking place in Hartlepool (28th November), Middlesbrough (February), Stockton (March), and Redcar (May).
Becca Robertson, at public relations firm Harvey & Hugo, added:
“We’re pawsitive this is going to be a great event and provide something different and unique to businesses during Darlington Business Week.
“We’re excited to get our teeth stuck into this event and hope people won’t get too ruff with the NERF GUNS.”
“You’d be barking mad not to miss it.”
