Winds of success blow with latest project win at UK’s Largest Wind Turbine Manufacturing Facility

IT specialist Advantex has secured a significant contract with SES Engineering Services to provide security and surveillance at the UK’s largest wind turbine manufacturing facility.

Working in partnership with the North based mechanical and electrical firm, Follingsby Park-based Advantex has designed an advanced IP-camera security solution as part of a substantial six-figure contract. Due to be delivered next year, this integrated system will be implemented at SeAH Wind’s £900 million monopile manufacturing facility at Teesworks.

Set to be the world’s largest monopile facility and the only one of its kind in the UK, the 800-metre-long, 40-metre-high building will be a landmark in renewable energy infrastructure.

Once fully operational, this pivotal site will support the UK’s renewable energy ambitions, creating 750 direct jobs and an additional 1,500 in the supply chain. Monopiles produced here will be transported directly to the newly built Steel River Quay, destined for deployment in the North Sea and beyond.

Advantex’s systems include the latest digital CCTV and access control technology to deliver improved site-wide security and streamlined operations. From a central control room, the system will monitor the flow of personnel across key areas, securing business-critical functions and providing comprehensive perimeter protection.

A 75-strong camera system, which includes a package of Milestone Video Management Software and Paxton Access Control, integrates seamlessly across the entire site to deliver a single, unified security infrastructure.

This landmark project marks Advantex’s second major renewable energy sector contract, as the company—now with a workforce of 70 and annual turnover reaching £12 million—continues to expand its presence in this field.

This latest contract comes amid rising demand from the renewables sector, as manufacturers increasingly invest in advanced digital security and surveillance systems to enhance operational efficiency, said Tony Easingwood, senior account manager at Advantex.

“We’re honoured to contribute to SeAH’s multi-million-pound investment at Teesworks by providing advanced technology for the world’s largest monopile facility. As demand for high-quality, integrated solutions grows, we’re at the forefront of the North East’s renewables sector, delivering cost-effective, reliable systems that help our clients drive the wind energy revolution forward.”

Anthony Moloney, Project Manager, SES Engineering Services (SES) said: “The development of the SeAH Wind facility is now progressing at rapid pace and the high-quality, added value system provided by Advantex marks another significant milestone. “

“We are passionate about providing growth opportunities for successful regional businesses and it’s great to see have Advantex on board, adding strength to this landmark project.”
